THE CHEAT SHEET - 18 DEC 2011
THE CHEAT SHEET
Yes, we have an appropriate moniker for our emailer now thanks to Christopher Ong. Thanks, Chris! The Cheat Sheet, it is!
Well, we hope that you have been safe during the past week of train disruptions and we'd like to offer you some comfort with good news and good music.
We want to thank Clement Yang and all at Hood Bar & Cafe for letting the Sons rock out at their cool little venue on Saturday, 10th December. The gig started a little slowly but by the end - after two encores - everybody was well pleased by what they'd witnessed! You can check out gig photos at http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150414902587011.355278.599252010&type=3 courtesy of Martin Chua. Thanks, Martin!
The latest word on the new album recording is that the new songs are sounding fantastic with LA producer Manny Nieto at the helm. Hopefully basic tracking will be completed by the end of this coming week. We will keep you posted of the progress. You can expect to hear the new songs in late March 2012 when the Sons play the Esplanade Recital Studio. Keep that final week of March free, friends!
Coming up on this Wednesday, 21st December, will be what looks like the Sons' final performance in 2011 at The Pigeonhole located at 52/53 Duxton Road. The Sons will play an intimate acoustic set of old favorites and new offerings. Come on down and meet the Sons, take pictures and get CDs autographed. The first album - Masters, Wives, Daughters - will be on sale for S$16. Hope to see as many of you there from about 8pm.
In the meantime, we have uploaded a video of the Sons' performance of 'Jefferson' at the Strawberry Music Festival at Cheng Jiang in October this year. You can watch it at http://youtu.be/z82VoYQCSwU. Please share with friends and family for this holiday season!
Well, that's it for this week. Stay safe and we'll see you soon.
